During my professional life I've involved hundreds of interviews. I hired as a manager and technical lead, I've been hired as a developer and I've been rejected as a candidate. I've seen how the recruitment process is broken from both sides.
If I could reducts all the issues into one word, it would be waste. Recruiters are spending days on finding talents, candidates are spending hours on preparing for interviews, and the hiring managers are spending hours on interviewing candidates. The problem starts when they all do the same thing over and over again.
It doesn't stop there, recruiters doesn't know what really the team looking for. Companies miss great talents in these meaningless processes. I've seen companies puts meaningless requirements on job cause team members are not able to explain what they are looking for and recruiters have no idea what skill they are looking for.
Recruiters are not able to see the candidates' skills and experience. Candidates are not able to see the company's culture and values. Recruiters are great ability to understands talents persona. However, they don't understand what technical skills team need.
This all process is just repetitive and boring. It can be fun, educative and transparent. Everyone wins. We are on a mission to make it happen.
